Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and the world's largest Proof of Work network. With EMCD, you mine BTC with your SHA-256 ASICs and, on the same hardware, also earn rewards in Fractal Bitcoin through merged mining.
Bitcoin network parameters
| Parameter | Value |
| Algorithm | SHA-256 |
| Block time | About 10 minutes |
| Block reward | 3.125 BTC plus transaction fees |
| Difficulty adjustment | Every 2,016 blocks (about two weeks) |
| Maximum supply | 21 million BTC |
BTC + Fractal Bitcoin merged mining
Fractal Bitcoin uses the same SHA-256 algorithm and supports merged mining with Bitcoin. On EMCD, the hashrate you send to the BTC pool also earns FB rewards, with no extra setup and no additional power consumption.
What hardware you need
To mine Bitcoin, you need a SHA-256 ASIC. The same devices can mine Bitcoin Cash, so you can choose the coin that fits your strategy. EMCD also offers its own firmware for Antminer devices, designed for energy efficiency and stable performance.

Bitcoin mining profitability in practice
Your Bitcoin mining income depends on five factors: your hashrate, your miner's energy efficiency, your electricity cost, network difficulty, and the BTC price. As more hashrate joins the network, difficulty rises and the reward per terahash tends to fall, so efficiency matters more over time. Older, less efficient ASICs can become unprofitable long before they stop working, which is why it's worth recalculating with your actual hashrate and power cost in the pool calculator.
Since the 2024 halving, each block pays 3.125 BTC plus transaction fees, and the next halving is expected around 2028. Transaction fees vary with network activity and can noticeably lift income during busy periods. On EMCD, the same hashrate also earns Fractal Bitcoin through merged mining, which adds a second revenue stream without any extra power use.
