Dogecoin started as a meme coin and is now among the largest cryptocurrencies by market cap. It uses the Scrypt algorithm and, in practice, is mined together with Litecoin through merged mining.

Why DOGE is mined with LTC
Since 2014, Dogecoin has supported merged mining with Litecoin through auxiliary Proof of Work (AuxPoW). A Scrypt ASIC connected to EMCD mines both chains at once, with no extra power consumption. Because Dogecoin's block reward is fixed and has no halvings, its issuance is predictable. Another Scrypt coin available in the pool is Pepecoin.
Why mine Dogecoin with EMCD
- DOGE + LTC merged mining on a single device.
- Fees from 1.5% and daily payouts.
- Miner monitoring, watcher links, and API.
- 24/7 support.
The payout model and minimum payout are listed in the table on this page.
Dogecoin's fixed issuance
Dogecoin pays a fixed 10,000 DOGE per block, which adds roughly 5 billion new coins a year. Because this amount doesn't change while total supply keeps growing, the annual inflation rate falls in percentage terms over time. For miners, this means the DOGE reward never halves, which makes it the more predictable part of Scrypt mining income.
Mining Dogecoin with a GPU is technically possible but not profitable, given the network difficulty set by Scrypt ASICs. To receive both payouts, set up a DOGE address, which usually starts with «D», and a separate LTC address. Rewards for each coin are shown separately in your dashboard.
